01 Acceptance of Terms

By browsing, registering on, or otherwise using this website, you confirm that you accept these Terms and agree to comply with them. These Terms apply to all visitors, members, players, parents/guardians of junior players, sponsors, customers, and anyone else who accesses the site.

02 Eligibility

This website is intended for a general audience, including supporters of all ages. Where any part of the site requires registration (for example, membership sign-up, trials, or newsletter subscriptions) and the person is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must provide consent and, where applicable, complete the registration or purchase on the minor’s behalf. Consumer protection provisions in these Terms apply only to natural persons and are subject to the thresholds set out in the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.

03 Use of the Website

You agree to use this website only for lawful purposes. You must not:

• Use the site in any way that breaches applicable local, national, or international law;
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, servers, or networks connected to it;
• Introduce viruses, malware, or other harmful material;
• Scrape, harvest, or collect data from the site without our written permission;
• Impersonate the Club, its players, officials, or any other person;
• Post or transmit abusive, defamatory, discriminatory, or otherwise unlawful content;
• Use automated means to purchase tickets or merchandise for resale, or to circumvent purchase limits.

04 Accounts & Membership

If the website allows you to register for membership, ticketing, trials, or similar services, you agree to provide accurate and current information and to keep your login details confidential. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at secretary@goodwoodunited.co.za  if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.

05 Tickets & Merchandise Sales

Where this website offers match tickets, memberships, or branded merchandise for sale, the following applies in addition to the rest of these Terms:

• A contract of sale is only formed once we accept your order and confirm this to you in writing (for example, by email or order confirmation on-screen). We may decline or cancel an order — for example, where stock or ticket allocation runs out, pricing was displayed incorrectly, or fraud is suspected — and will refund any amount already paid in that case.
• Product and ticket descriptions, sizing, and images are provided in good faith and are as accurate as reasonably possible, but colours and minor details may vary from what is shown on screen.
• Match tickets are sold subject to the ground regulations and any conditions of entry for the relevant venue and competition, which may include restrictions on resale.
• We may limit the quantity of tickets or items any one customer may purchase.

06 Pricing & Payment

• All prices are displayed in South African Rand (ZAR) and are inclusive of VAT where applicable, unless stated otherwise.
• We take reasonable steps to display accurate pricing, but errors can occur; if a pricing error is discovered before your order is fulfilled, we will contact you to confirm the correct price before proceeding, and you may cancel at no charge.
• Payments made through this website are processed by a third-party payment service provider (Not Applicable). We do not store your full card details on our servers; payment data is handled directly by the payment provider in accordance with its own security standards and privacy terms.
• You confirm that any payment method you use is your own or that you are authorised to use it.
• Order confirmations and, where required, VAT invoices will be issued electronically to the email address you provide.

07 Delivery & Collection

• Match tickets are typically issued electronically or made available for collection at the venue on match day; merchandise may be available for collection at the Club or delivered to an address you provide.
• Estimated delivery or collection timeframes shown on the site are estimates only and not guaranteed. Risk in physical merchandise passes to you on delivery or collection.
• You are responsible for providing an accurate delivery address and for any additional cost or delay caused by incorrect details supplied by you.

08 Cancellations, Returns & Refunds

These provisions reflect your statutory rights under South African law and apply where you are a natural person purchasing as a consumer.

Cooling-off right on electronic transactions (ECT Act, s.44)

Where you purchase merchandise through this website in a transaction concluded electronically (i.e. not in person at the club), you may cancel the transaction, without reason and without penalty, within seven (7) days of receiving the goods, by giving written notice to [insert contact email]. We will refund any amount paid within 30 days of receiving a valid cancellation notice, less any direct costs of returning the goods. This cooling-off right does not apply to:

• Match tickets for a specific, dated event (excluded as a service related to leisure activities to be performed on a specific date, per s.42(2) of the ECT Act);
• Goods made or personalised to your specification (for example, a shirt printed with your name and number);
• Goods you have used, worn, or which are no longer in resaleable condition.

Faulty, damaged, or misdescribed goods (Consumer Protection Act, s.55–56)

Separately from the cooling-off right above, if merchandise you purchase is defective, unsafe, or does not match its description, you may return it within six months of delivery for repair, replacement, or refund, at your choice, at no charge to you, in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.

Match postponements or cancellations

If a fixture is postponed, abandoned, or cancelled by the league or competition organisers, ticket refund or exchange arrangements will follow the applicable league or competition policy, which we will communicate to affected ticket-holders.

This section gives general, good-faith wording based on the ECT Act and CPA. Before taking live payments, have it checked by a professional against your actual sales process (delivery model, personalised items, membership fees, recurring billing, etc.), since the right wording depends on exactly what you sell and how.

09 Website Content

We aim to keep information on this website — including fixtures, results, squad news, and club announcements — accurate and up to date, but we do not guarantee that all content is complete, current, or error-free. Fixtures, kick-off times, and venues are subject to change without notice; please confirm details with the Club directly before travelling to a match.

10 Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the Goodwood United FC name, crest, logo, colours, and all text, graphics, photographs, and other material on this website are the property of the Club or its licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may view and print pages for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not reproduce, republish, distribute, or exploit any content for commercial purposes without our prior written consent.

11 User-Submitted Content

If the website allows you to submit content — such as comments, photos, or forum posts — you remain responsible for what you submit. By submitting content, you grant the Club a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, and display that content on this website and our official social media channels for club-related purposes. We may remove any submitted content at our discretion, without notice.

16 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Goodwood United FC, its committee members, coaches, players, and volunteers will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, this website, save for liability that cannot lawfully be excluded (including liability for gross negligence or for defective goods under section 61 of the Consumer Protection Act).

17 Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Goodwood United FC and its officials against any claims, losses, or expenses arising from your misuse of this website or your breach of these Terms, other than losses caused by our own negligence or breach.

We may suspend or terminate your access to this website at any time, without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms. This does not affect any completed order or statutory right you already hold.

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the website, our products and services, or applicable law.
